“Breaking the Chains: Discerning Our Distractions, Attachments and Addictions which Keep Us from an Intimacy with God”

August 15 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Through Sacred Scripture and music this talk will discuss the variety of things in each of our everyday lives that serve to distract us from intimacy with God and with each other. The talk is the second in this summer’s Speakers Series, jointly sponsored by four Cape parishes. “Breaking the Chains…” will be presented by educator and counselor Keaton Douglas. Douglas is creator and coordinator of the I THIRST Initiative, a comprehensive program which focuses on spirituality in the prevention, treatment and aftercare of those suffering from substance abuse disorders and their families. She is a regular contributor for Relevant Radio, a nationally syndicated Catholic radio station, where she discusses issues on forgiveness, healing and addiction.

This Speakers Series 2019 is a joint project of four parishes: Our Lady of Victory, Centerville; Our Lady of the Assumption, Osterville; St. Anthony, East Falmouth; and Christ the King, Mashpee.
