About Father Wilson: Born in Boston, Father Wilson grew up in Quincy, Mass. After graduation from Boston College High School, he went to Georgetown University and earned a bachelor’s degree in public service. He prepared for the priesthood at St. John’s Seminary in Brighton and at the North American College in Rome. He holds a licentiate degree in canon law from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. After completing his studies he was a parochial vicar at Our Lady of Victory Parish in Centerville for two years when in 2000 he became secretary to Bishop Sean O’Malley, OFM Cap. and director of the diocesan Hispanic Apostolate. In 2004, he was appointed to become pastor of the new Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church in New Bedford, which had been formed by the joining of four parishes in the city’s South End. He continues to serve at that parish and oversee ministry to Hispanic Catholics in the diocese.
