Dear Friend in Christ,

Having recently received the Sacrament of Confirmation and been fully initiated into the Church, you’ve reached a point of maturity in your Christian life. Congratulations! It’s a milestone, to be sure; it marks the beginning of what I pray will be your lifelong journey as an adult follower of Christ and member of His Church.

As Bishop of the Diocese of Fall River, I invite you to take an active role in the Church. I urge you to! I need your “Yes” to stand and serve with me, to share your ideas and dreams to help shape a vibrant future for our Church. You have so much to offer to your parish and to our diocese.

Here are two ways to say “Yes.” Our planning process now underway includes a series of listening sessions. We will have a separate session on June 27 just for our newly-Confirmed like you! Please provide your name and contact information in the form below, and I will let you know the details so you can attend.

Also, have you considered participating in our annual Christian Leadership Institute or CLI, to take place June 23-28 in East Freetown? Now in its 30th year, CLI is a leadership training experience for high school age youth. You can get more information here:  CLI 2018

If your schedule won’t allow either of these, don’t worry. A number of other opportunities for you to participate in planning are in the works for later this year. I promise to be in touch to keep you informed. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

+Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha, S.D.V.
Bishop of Fall River

(All submitted contact information will remain confidential. It will be used to provide details about the listening session and to share other opportunities for you to take an active role in the Church.)

Newly Confirmed

At the end of each Mass we are sent forth to "Go in peace" or "Go in peace, glorifying the Lord by your life." These words encourage us to leave Mass and carry our faith with us. It is a call to put our faith into action. Think about your gifts and talents, those things you enjoy doing. In which areas are you interested in sharing them to contribute to your Church.
