FALL RIVER — Lent, the forty-day season of prayer, sacrifice and almsgiving in preparation for the joyous celebration of Easter, begins on Ash Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Parishes throughout the Fall River Diocese will mark the start of Lent with the traditional rite of distribution of ashes.

Due to the January 23rd storm, the 11th annual Diocese of Fall River FACE Scholarship Winter Brunch scheduled for that weekend was postponed.  The re-scheduled date is Sunday, February 7, 2016. As planned, the FACE Winter Brunch will be held at the Coonamessett Inn, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
