DESCRIPTION:This is the 6rd annual World Day of Prayer for Vocations\, celebrated annually on the Fourth Sunday of Easter which is also known as “Good Shepherd Sunday.”  The purpose of the day is to publicly fulfill the Lord’s instruction\, “Pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into his harvest” (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2). These information nights will be held at two locations and also via Zoom. \nThe Information Nights schedule is as follows: \n\nTuesday\, January 27\, 2026 at 7 p.m.\, via Zoom\nFriday\, February 13\, 2026 at 7 p.m.\, St. Ann Parish Hall\, 675 North Main St.\, Raynham\nMonday\, April 27\, 2026 at 7 p.m.\, via Zoom\n\nBishop Edgar M. da Cunha\, S.D.V.\, has authorized the formation of a new class for Permanent Deacons for the Diocese of Fall River for the fall of 2027. Those interested in pursuing the vocation of the diaconate beginning with the Aspirancy phase in the fall 2027 are invited to submit a preliminary application. DESCRIPTION:April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and blue pinwheels have become a symbol of it because they represent the playful innocence of childhood. \nThe Diocesan Office of Safe Environment extends an invitation to all to join Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha\, S.D.V.\, and students from Fall River Diocesan schools in planting pinwheels and praying for protection\, healing and prevention of abuse of all children. \nBishop da Cunha will celebrate the 12 noon Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral and the planting of pinwheels and prayers will follow outside\, weather permitting. \n \n
