New Videos Highlight Impact of FACE as Special Collection Draws Near Author: Diocese of Fall River Press Releases and Statements 31 Ago 2023 Share FALL RIVER – The Foundation to Advance Catholic Education- or FACE- has launched a series of short videos to highlight its mission and the support it provides to Catholic school students and their schools in the Diocese of Fall River. The videos underscore the importance of the special parish second collection that will benefit FACE, to be taken up throughout the diocese at September 9-10 weekend Masses. Through this annual collection, various fundraisers, and ongoing outreach, FACE raises money for need-based scholarships to assist with the cost of a Catholic education in the Diocese. Each year, over 1,000 children in grades K-12 receive financial scholarship support from it. The FACE videos feature Catholic school administrators, parents, FACE board members and supporters, and students who speak on the impact of FACE support. The videos have been posted on the FACE website among others and widely shared through available social media platforms. Across the Diocese of Fall River, hundreds of families provide their children with a Catholic school’s values-based and high-quality educational experience because they are able to receive financial assistance thanks to the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations whose contributions to FACE make the aid possible. “Holy Trinity School is indebted to the Foundation to Advance Catholic Education and all of the wonderful donors that support it” said Holy Trinity School Principal Brenda Gagnon. “Enrollment in the school would not be as strong as it is if it wasn’t for FACE. Many of our families need the financial support to allow them to have their children attend our school.” FACE has its origins in the St. Mary’s Education Fund that was founded in 1991 to give students with financial need access to a Catholic education in the Diocese of Fall River. Today, FACE carries on the critical mission of making Catholic education a reality for all families who desire one for their children. Parishioners are asked to please consider supporting the 2023 FACE collection in their parish to help bring a Catholic education within the financial reach of additional families in the Diocese.
