FALL RIVER \u2014 All Catholic schools in the Fall River Diocese will observe Catholic Schools Week from January 26th through February 1st with Masses, open houses and a variety of special programs and activities for students, families and community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celebrated annually across the country beginning on the last Sunday in January, the week is designed to highlight the value of a Catholic education to young people and their families as well as its contributions to the Church and wider community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is also the time when most Catholic schools host open houses and open registration for the following academic year. Students and parents who are interested in enrolling in one of the Catholic schools or learning more about the enrollment process should contact the school of interest for information or visit www.CatholicSchoolsAlliance.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specific Catholic Schools Week schedules vary from school to school but often feature academic and athletic challenges; music and arts festivals; guest speakers; special opportunities for prayer; activities to support charities and outreach to those in need; appreciation events; and student socials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The national theme for the celebration is \u201cCatholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a message for Catholic Schools Week, the diocesan Catholic Schools Office \u2013led by Superintendent of Schools Stephen A. Perla- said, \u201cI continue to be amazed at what our students are doing and achieving every day! Our schools are truly the future of the Church as they continue to meet the spiritual and diverse academic needs of the region\u2019s children and the families they serve. Each school is truly a God-given treasure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Catholic Schools Office Leadership Team role is to oversee and guide educational programming, spiritual development, academic rigor, leadership development for all 20 Catholic schools in the Diocese of Fall River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The leadership team concludes its message for Catholic Schools Week with an expression of deep gratitude to all who serve and support Catholic education, especially the parents of students \u201cfor the trust they have placed in our schools to provide their child with an excellent academic program and to assist them with deepening their personal faith.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
