Catechist Formation Evening

Igniting the hearts of a New Generation: Engaging and Accompanying younger disciples and their families is the focus of this catechist training evening being sponsored by the Faith Formation Office.

Children, today, think differently.  Their interests and needs vary.  They learn in a variety of different ways.  Their attention spans are short and their energy levels are more than we can keep up with!    And, their desire to know, love, and serve God is real and alive!  They’ve evolved and so must the ways of sharing, teaching, and walking the journey of faith, together – with them and with their families!

If you have the privilege of ministering with children and their families, then this workshop is for you.  Together, we’ll delve more deeply into the mystery of understanding and embracing this generation and their gift to us.  Then, we’ll look to effective approaches that are practical, fun, inviting, and achievable, to effectively engage them and nurture their hearts in faith and love.

Presenter will be Maureen P. Provencher of St. Mary’s Press. She has served professionally in the youth ministry field in New England for more than 15 years, in parish, regional, and diocesan settings.

The evening will include dinner and there is no charge to attend. Please RSVP to Claire McManus, director of the Faith Formation Office, by email at cmcmanus@dfrcs.org
