From Fulton to Francis: Communication and Encounter
Bishop Robert Reed, an auxiliary bishop in his native Archdiocese of Boston and president of its Catholic TV Network, will offer this presentation, “From Fulton to Francis: Communication and Encounter,” as part of the Speakers Night 2017 series. All are welcome to attend.
Planners of the program point out that with so many avenues to connect and so many tools to to evangelize, it’s a great moment! Bishop Fulton Sheen was a master, and Pope Francis has brought the revolution full circle in calling us to an encounter with God and with our brothers and sisters, particularly those on the periphery of life.
Bishop Reed has long entertained a keen interest in the full use of television and new media for an engaging and truthful sharing of the Catholic Faith and life. Ordained a priest in 1985 and a bishop in 2016, he prepared for the priesthood at the North American College in Rome and earned an advanced degree in television management from Boston University’s College of Communication. He currently serves as auxiliary bishop for the West Region of the archdiocese, as pastor of Good Shepherd Parish in Wayland, and as secretary for Catholic Media in the archdiocese in addition to his post at Catholic TV. He is author of the book, Renewed: Ten Ways to Rediscover the Saints, Embrace Your Gifts, and Revive Your Catholic Faith.
The Speakers Night 2017 series is sponsored by Our Lady of Victory Parish, Centerville; Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Osterville; St. Anthony Parish, East Falmouth; and Christ the King Parish, Mashpee.
