Summer Catholic Reflections Speakers Series

The Summer Catholic Reflections Speakers Series continues in July with Boston Archdiocesan priest Father Austin Fleming on “Finding and Sharing Jesus On Line.” Pope Benedict called for us to evangelize the “digital continent,” the online universe where we communicate daily. Father Fleming’s talk will consider how best to bring the person and message of Jesus to the digital world; whether online spirituality satisfies too easily; and how the online presence of the Church can draw people to our sanctuaries on Sunday mornings.

For the past eight years, Father Fleming has written a daily blog, A Concord Pastor Comments, on prayer, spirituality and the liturgy. Father Fleming was ordained in 1973 and has since served in parish ministry in the Boston Archdiocese as well as in campus ministry at the University of Notre Dame, at Northeastern University and at Emerson College. He is the author of Preparing for Liturgy: A Theology and Spirituality; A Prayerbook for Engaged Couples; and A Parish Wedding.

Summer Catholic Reflections Series is sponsored jointly by the parishes of Our Lady of Victory, Centerville; Our Lady of the Assumption, Osterville; St. Patrick, Falmouth; and Christ the King, Mashpee. It concludes with an August 6 presentation.
