Summer Catholic Reflections Speakers Series

The 2015 Summer Catholic Reflections Speakers Series concludes with St. Petersburg, Florida, Bishop Robert Lynch on “Three Popes: One Church.”

Bishop Lynch will reflect on the pontificates of Saint John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis, three very different styles but serving the one Church.

Born in Charleston, West Virginia in 1941, Bishop Lynch received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Pontifical College Josephinum in Worthington, Ohio in May 1963 and his Master of Divinity degree from Pope John XXIII National Seminary in Weston, Massachusetts in May, 1978. That same month, he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Miami.

Bishop Lynch is known for his time spent as the General Secretary of the United States Catholic Conference (USCC) and the National Conference of Catholic Bishops (NCCB).

He was ordained a bishop and installed as the fourth Bishop of the Diocese of St. Petersburg on January 26, 1996.

Summer Catholic Reflections Series is sponsored jointly by the parishes of Our Lady of Victory, Centerville; Our Lady of the Assumption, Osterville; St. Patrick, Falmouth; and Christ the King, Mashpee. There is no charge to attend.
