Taunton Deanery Lenten Mission

A four-evening Lenten Mission for the Taunton Deanery will take place at 7 p.m. from Sunday, March 17, through Wednesday, March 20, at two churches in the deanery. St. Ann Parish in Raynham will host the mission on Sunday and Monday (Mar. 17 and 18), St. Andrew the Apostle Parish on Tuesday and Wednesday (Mar. 19 and 20).

Leading the Mission will be Paulist Father Tom Ryan, who directs the Paulist Office for Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations in Boston. Born and raised in southern Minnesota, Father Ryan did his graduate studies in theology at the Washington (D.C.) Theological Union and the University of Geneva and was ordained a Paulist in 1975. He served in campus ministry in the U.S. and Canada before directing the Montreal-based Canadian Centre for Ecumenism for 14 years and working in all ten provinces of Canada. Perceiving the need for places where Christians of different traditions could gather to share faith and life with each other as well as with members of other religions, he spearheaded the founding of Unitas in Montreal, an ecumenical center for spirituality and Christian meditation co-sponsored by eight different denominations and served as its director for five years. In 2000, he answered the call of his community to set up and develop the Paulist Office for Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations in Boston.

All are welcome to attend the Mission in its entirety or any portion of it as one’s schedule allows.

St. Ann Church is located at 660 North Main St. in Raynham. St. Andrew the Apostle Church is located at 19 Kilmer Ave. in Taunton.
