DESCRIPTION:The Fall River Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW) will gather for their Annual Meeting on Saturday\, May 18th. They extend a cordial invitation to all women of the Diocese to join them. A 9 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Grace Church in Westport will begin the program to be followed by a catered breakfast. Guest presenter will be Father Peter Scheffer\, who is pastor of the three parishes in Westport\, Mass.\, Our Lady of Grace\, St. George\, and St. John the Baptist. A short meeting will follow his presentation. \nThe DCCW endeavors to offer programs and projects that respond with Gospel values to the needs of the Church and society. Its membership is made up of women from various parishes of the Fall River Diocese. The DCCW is a member of the National Council of Catholic Women. \nCost is $25.00 per person. The devotion was given to Saint Faustina in 1935 through a series of private revelations from Jesus Christ. In the Diary of Saint Faustina\, numerous promises are associated with the Divine Mercy Chaplet\, including: “At the hour of their death\, I defend as My own glory every soul that will say this chaplet; or when others say it for a dying person\, the pardon is the same” (#811).

SUMMARY:Saint Vincent's Services Motorcycle Run
DESCRIPTION:Saint Vincent’s Services (SVS) is holding its 19th Annual Motorcycle Run presented by Preferred Concrete Corp. Last year’s event drew in 200 riders and spectators and raised $20\,000 for their community garden efforts\, and this year’s event is on track to be even bigger! \nFunds raised will assist with renovating and upgrading the on-site gymnasium used for physical education and therapeutic recreation by youth entrusted to the care of Saint Vincent’s Services congregate care placement programs (emergency and intermediate residential stays for youth with behavioral or complex clinical needs) and Behavioral Health Clinic. The renovated gym project will create a multi-purpose space with state-of-the-art fitness equipment and facilities to accommodate all ages and physical abilities. The project is projected to cost $200\,000 and will better serve the physical and mental health needs of young individuals. \nThe Motorcycle Run will start rain or shine at Saint Vincent’s in Fall River\, with kick-stands up promptly at 10:00 a.m. The Massachusetts State Police will escort riders along a 45-mile scenic ride as they travel through the back roads of Fall River\, Assonet\, Berkley\, Lakeville\, and Somerset and end with a BBQ reception at Saint Vincent’s Services. \nTickets for riders\, passengers\, and attendees are available on Saint Vincent’s Services website (www.SaintVincentsServices.org) or can be purchased on the morning of the Bike Run. \nFor questions\, please contact Katie Dawkins\, Director of Donor Relations and Fundraising\, at (508) 235-3228 or email kdawkins@stvservices.org.

Priesthood Sunday is celebrated on the last Sunday of September.\nPriesthood Sunday is for those who cultivate close working relationships with their priests and therefore could benefit from a special day to express their gratitude.
