Specifically\, October 10th is World Mental Health Day and October 6 – 12 is Mental Illness Awareness Month. \nIn recognition of the impact that mental health challenges can have on individuals\, their families and caregivers\, Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha\, S.D.V.\, will celebrate this Mass to raise awareness of the impact of mental health and substance use within faith communities within the Diocese of Fall River.  \nThis will be offered for those who have lost a loved one to suicide\, drug and alcohol use\, or mental illness\, and for those who are currently experiencing mental health or substance use challenges. SUMMARY:St. Stanislaus Parish 125th Anniversary
DESCRIPTION:A Jubilee Mass on this day will culminate the yearlong celebration of the 125th anniversary of the founding of St. Stanislaus Parish in Fall River. This year\, the parish is also commemorating the 30th anniversary of the dedication of its new church. Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha\, S.D.V.\, will be principal celebrant and homilist for the Jubilee Mass. A celebration breakfast will follow the Mass in the school auditorium. Tickets for the breakfast are free but pre-registration is required. Tickets are available in the narthex of St. Stanislaus Church after 9:00 Mass or by calling the school office at 508-674-6771 or the parish office at 508-673-2833. Tickets are limited and reservations for the breakfast must be made no later than October 27th. \nThe 125th Anniversary Committee is encouraging parishioners past and present to join them\, noting that it “is a great way to honor our parents\, grandparents and great grandparents who built our parish on the foundation of their faith and rich Polish culture.”

DESCRIPTION:Come for one or both parts of this Family Advent Celebration on Saturday\, December 7\, at the Father Peyton Center\, 518 Washington St.\, N. Easton. \nChristmas craft\, family sing-along and pizza and salad from 3:00 to 5:30 pm. The evening event\, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm\, next door at St. Joseph Chapel\, will be a benefit Christmas concert by Catholic musician Marie Miller (www.MarieMillerMusic.com) with a light reception to follow. \nBoth parts of the event are free. DESCRIPTION:You’re Invited to Open the Jubilee Year with Bishop da Cunha \nOn Sunday\, December 29\, in union with bishops throughout the world\, Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha\, S.D.V.\, will celebrate a special Mass to open the local diocesan observance of the Jubilee Year 2025 in the Catholic Church. The Mass will take place at 3 p.m. in St. Mary’s Cathedral\, Fall River\, and the faithful from the Diocese of Fall River are invited and encouraged to take part. \nThe Mass will follow the opening of the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome on Christmas Eve by Pope Francis to officially begin the Jubilee Year for the Universal Church. A Jubilee is a special year of prayer\, reconciliation\, and spiritual renewal\, ordinarily taking place every 25 years. Jubilee 2025 will have as its theme\, “Pilgrims of Hope.” \nIn a February 2022 letter\, the Holy Father Pope Francis announced 2025 as a Jubilee Year for the Universal Church\, announcing as the theme\, Pilgrims of Hope. Pope Francis stated\, ” “We must fan the flame of hope that has been given us and help everyone to gain new strength and certainty by looking to the future with an open spirit\, a trusting heart and far-sighted vision. The forthcoming Jubilee can contribute greatly to restoring a climate of hope and trust as a prelude to the renewal and rebirth that we so urgently desire…” \nThe Jubilee Year will offer the faithful opportunities to participate in various jubilee events at the Vatican and in their own dioceses. The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains the basis for this title for Mary. “Called in the Gospels ‘the mother of Jesus\,’ Mary is acclaimed by Elizabeth\, at the prompting of the Spirit and even before the birth of her Son\, as ‘the mother of my Lord.’ This is also the Octave of Christmas\, or the 8th day of Christmas. SUMMARY:Mass for Consecrated Life
DESCRIPTION:Men and women religious throughout the Diocese of Fall River are invited to this Mass. This special liturgy honors all those who have dedicated their lives to serving the Church through consecrated life. Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha\, S.D.V.\, will be celebrant and homilist for this Mass. It will also celebrate the anniversaries of those who have reached milestones in their service. \nThis Mass follows World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life\, which is observed each year of February 2nd. In 1997\, Pope Saint John Paul II instituted this day of prayer for women and men in consecrated life. This celebration is attached to the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord on February 2nd. This Feast is also known as Candlemas Day; the day on which candles are blessed symbolizing Christ who is the light of the world. So too\, those in consecrated life are called to reflect the light of Jesus Christ to all peoples. \nAll of the faithful are asked to please pray for all those who have made commitments in the consecrated life\, and be sure to thank them for their service at this time. May they continue to be inspired by Jesus Christ and respond generously to God’s gift of their vocation.
