DESCRIPTION:The annual Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC) collection will be taken up at parishes in the Fall River Diocese during weekend Masses This yearly national campaign is designed as a shared collection\, meaning half of the proceeds stay in the local diocese and the other half is forwarded to the CCC office of the U.S. Bishops’ Conference. The portion remaining in the Fall River Diocese provides partial funding for a variety of communication endeavors including the weekly Television Mass that airs on WLNE-TV\, Channel 6.  (In addition to proceeds from the upcoming CCC collection\, communication endeavors in the Diocese including the TV Mass are also supported by the annual Catholic Appeal.) DESCRIPTION:SAVE THE DATE for the second Lumen Christi Cathedral Gala! \nFirst having welcomed faithful parishioners to worship in 1856 as a parish church\, the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption in Fall River has served as the center of the Diocese since 1904 – the very beginning of the ‘new’ Diocese of Fall River. Plan to attend this night in celebration of our Mother church and help Lumen Christi – the Light of Christ – continue to shine forth from the Cathedral and bless our Diocese and all of the faithful within it. \nAll proceeds from this event will support repairs and renovations that will help us shine the light of our beloved Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption for years to come. \nDetails on the Cathedral Gala to be announced soon.

DESCRIPTION:The St. Anne’s Preservation Society invites everyone to take part in this procession on the Feast of Corpus Christi. The procession will begin at an outside altar in front of St. Anne’s Shrine and then proceed around the church\, for approximately two blocks in distance. It will return to the front of the Shrine and conclude there with Benediction. \nFather Edward A. Murphy\, who is chaplain to the St. Anne’s Shrine Preservation Society\, says\, “The Church asks us one day in the year on the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ\, to bring Jesus out to our streets in honor of the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. I want all to know they are very welcome to join us in this beautiful occasion.”
