SUMMARY:Attleboro March for Life
DESCRIPTION:St. John the Evangelist Parish in Attleboro invites members of the community to take part in this approximately 1.5 mile March for Life through Attleboro. It will begin and end at St. John’s Chruch. The March will be followed by a program in the church featuring Adoration\, praise\, worship\, and a brief talk by Myah Abraham. Abraham is a passionate teen advocate working to protect the dignity and joy of all life. Her talk will be on the profound conversion story of Dr. Bernard Nathanson. She is part of Hosea GreatLife Teens\, a Virginia-based group dedicated to bringing truth to a world broken by abortion. It’s not only for men who are already plugged into their parish and practicing their faith but also for men who do not yet know the Lord or who are not currently living a life of faith. \nThe event is being held jointly by the Men of St. Joseph apostolate of St. Francis Xavier Parish\, Acushnet\, and the Fall River diocesan Secretariat for the New Evangelization. \nCost is $15. DESCRIPTION:Presentation of the Pope St. Pius X Youth Awards to young persons from parishes throughout the Diocese in recognition of their service to their parish. Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha\, S.D.V.\, will confer the awards in the context of a prayer service. Named for the pontiff who created the Fall River Diocese in 1904\, the Pope St. Pius X Youth Awards were  presented for the first time in 2001. The award honors the commitment and selflessness of teens towards Christ\, His Church\, and local parish communities in the Church. Recipients are nominated for the recognition by their pastors; recipients must be confirmed\, at least a sophomore in high school\, and no older than 19 years old.
