DESCRIPTION:All are invited to Saint Anne Shrine to observe the feast day of its patronal namesake. There will be opportunities for the Sacrament of Confession between 1:00-3:00 p.m.\, Devotions at 3:00 p.m.\, and recitation of the Rosary at 5:00 p.m. \nA Solemn Feast Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Father Tony Stephens of the Congregation of Priests of Mercy will be the homilist\, and an outdoor pilgrims’ procession will follow the Mass. \nLeading up to this celebration was a Novena to Saint Anne; it began on July 17th and had as its theme\, “Saint Anne: Grandmother of the Eucharist.” It was selected to highlight the connection between the Shrine’s patronal namesake and the ongoing Eucharistic Revival initiated by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. \nThis year marks the 151st year of devotional tradition to “Good Saint Anne” in Fall River. \n

SUMMARY:World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests
DESCRIPTION:In 2002\, Pope Saint John Paul II designated the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus as the World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops states\, “On this day\, the Church encourages priests to prayerfully reflect upon the gift of their vocation. The faithful are also invited to mark this celebration by praying for all priests that they may live lives of holiness and fidelity to Christ and his Church.” \nThis year\, the celebration occurs on Friday\, June 16\, 2023.
