“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
Pastoral Planning is a process that engages members of the faith community, invites them to take and express their baptismal responsibility to build up the church through prayer, discernment, and actions that address the needs of the faith community and those served by it.
The aim of the Office for Pastoral Planning is to collaborate with pastoral leaders who choose to strategically rebuild in faith and hope toward the future as vibrant communities of faith. The role of pastoral planning is to encourage dialogue regarding the management and growth of gifts and resources available to fulfill the mission entrusted to us.
The Office for Pastoral Planning currently has three main focuses. They are:
- Assisting parishes in forming competent Parish Pastoral Councils according to guidelines approved by Bishop da Cunha.
- To act as liaison between the Parish Pastoral Task Force and the Task Force on Catholic Education (schools).
- Implementation of pastoral priorities identified by Bishop da Cunha from the work of the task forces on schools and parishes.
“There is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct, or more uncertain in its success, than to take the lead in the introduction of a new order of things.”
