Supporting Diocesan Catholic Education

In the Fall River Diocese, we are incredibly blessed by the quality of our Catholic Education system. Hard-working, caring administrators, teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff work tirelessly to provide our Catholic school students with an educational experience that will serve them throughout their entire lives. Academics, sports, extracurricular activities, and, most importantly, meaningful encounters with the Catholic faith are all brought together to uniquely offer students and families something only found in Catholic schools.

Holy Moments

Every year, the Catholic School Alliance invites families around the Diocese to participate in some summer fun by sharing photos on various themes or topics. This summer, the Alliance is doing something a little different, I am sharing their post below.

WHAT IS A HOLY MOMENT?

A Holy Moment is a single moment in which you open yourself to God. You make yourself available to Him. You set aside personal preference and self-interest, and for one moment you do what you prayerfully believe God is calling you to do.

One example: “John Miller discovered that his neighbor three houses down had broken his leg. He had never met this neighbor, but on Saturday when he was mowing his lawn, he noticed the lawn three houses down was getting a little long. So, when he was finished mowing his own, he went down and mowed his neighbor’s lawn”  (Matthew Kelly).

Holy Moments come in all shapes and sizes:

• Attend daily Mass, Adoration, or, say, the Rosary.
• Empty the dishwasher without being asked.
• Clean up a mess even when you did not make it.
• Encourage someone, give praise, or take a more active interest in someone.
• Give someone an unexpected little gift of flowers.
• Help someone who needs it before being asked.
