The Mount Hope Catholic Community invites all to its parish retreat, looking at “Finding God in Suffering.” Presenter will be Father Christopher M. Mahar of the Diocese of Providence and author of the book, Finding God in Suffering.
Do you sometimes struggle to find an answer to the question of suffering in your life or in the life of your loved ones? Planners of this retreat offer that through this day of prayer, reflection and listening, you may come closer to an answer than you have ever expected. Father Maher writes: “God will stop at nothing to communicate his redemptive and healing love to those who suffer….What the teachings of our faith propose; and what the witness and writings of Saint John Paul II articulate, is not merely that there is a meaning in human suffering. More than that, they communicate the profound and mysterious truth that, even in suffering, we can find love. They present nothing less than this astounding paradox: “in the cross of Jesus Christ, love has found us.”
Registration to attend the retreat is $25.00 (October 1 – October 31) and includes morning coffee/tea, lunch and copy of Father Mahar’s book.
To register, please contact Sister Marianne Postiglione, RSM, by email to postigm@gmail.com or telephone 314-537-3058.
