April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and blue pinwheels have become a symbol of it because they represent the playful innocence of childhood.
The Diocesan Office of Safe Environment extends an invitation to all to join Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha, S.D.V., and students from Fall River Diocesan schools in planting pinwheels and praying for protection, healing and prevention of abuse of all children.
Bishop da Cunha will celebrate the 12 noon Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral and the planting of pinwheels and prayers will follow outside, weather permitting.
