DESCRIPTION:Holy Trinity Parish\, West Harwich\, kicks off its Summer Speaker Series with Father Michael MacInnis\, who serves as the Director of Human Formation at St. John’s Seminary in Brighton. The Speaker Series has as its theme\, Bread for the World: Blessed\, Broken and Shared\, which builds on the Eucharistic Revival now underway across the country. Three different speakers will be featured on consecutive Tuesdays. Each evening will feature a 6 p.m. Mass and the speaker’s presentation will be part of the homily. A cookout will follow the Mass on the church lawn each week. \nThe parish extends an invitation to all to attend. \nThis Summer Speaker Series will continue on Tuesday\, July\, 23\, with Father Alvin Té\, the director of Franciscan Mission Associates; and Tuesday\, July 30\, with Father Michael Della Penna\, OFM\, who is pastor of St. Leonard Church in Boston.

SUMMARY:Novena to St. Anne Begins
DESCRIPTION:Saint Anne Shrine of Fall River is hosting its 152nd Solemn Novena and Feast of Saint Anne\, beginning this day. During the first nine days (July 17-25)\, Mass is celebrated daily at 6:30 p.m. A Holy Hour will follow each Mass during which the Novena to St. Anne is prayed\, and the day’s preacher gives a reflection. Confession is available at 6 p.m. \nFriday\, July 26th\, the Feast of St. Anne\, features opportunities for the Sacrament of Confession between 1:00-3:00 p.m.\, Devotions at 3:00 p.m.\, the recitation of the Rosary at 5:00 p.m.\, and the Solemn Feast Mass at 6:00 p.m.\, followed by the pilgrims’ procession. \nThe theme of this year’s novena is “Bearer of the Covenant: St. Anne and the Eucharist.” The preachers of the Novena are Deacon Americo Miranda  (July 17 -19) and Fr. Jewel Aytona\, CPM (July 20-26). \n

There will be opportunities for the Sacrament of Confession between 1:00-3:00 p.m.\, Devotions at 3:00 p.m.\, and recitation of the Rosary at 5:00 p.m. \nA Solemn Feast Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Father Jewel Aytona of the Congregation of Priests of Mercy will be the homilist\, and an outdoor pilgrims’ procession will follow the Mass. \nLeading up to this celebration was a Novena to Saint Anne; it began on July 17th and had as its theme\, “Bearer of the Covenant: St. Anne and the Eucharist.” \nThis year marks the 152nd year of devotional tradition to “Good Saint Anne” in Fall River. \n
