DESCRIPTION:The New Translation of the OCIA: Changes in Translation\, Opportunities for Renewal is a virtual workshop being offered for Christian initiation coordinators\, teams\, priests\, and deacons in the Diocese of Fall River. There is no cost to participate but preregistration is required. \nIn this workshop\, participants will have the chance to examine the newly translated ritual text and consider the ways they can implement the vision of the OCIA throughout all parish life\, thus renewing the life-giving fir of the catechumenate. SUMMARY:Catholic Youth Day
DESCRIPTION:Food\, fun\, a concert and inspiration will all be part of the experience at Catholic Youth Day 2024\, themed “I Am Called.” Presenters will be Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha\, S.D.V.\, and Father Louis Merosne\, a priest currently serving in Haiti. The event takes place on the grounds of the former Cathedral Camp in East Freetown. Participants will need to register through their parish or school. \nAbout Fr. Louis Merosne: Father Louis Merosne is madly in love with the Trinity\, the Blessed Mother\, and the Catholic Church. Born in Haiti\, he moved to Boston in 1993. He studied at the Franciscan University (undergraduate French\, philosophy\, and theology from 2002 to 2005 and graduate theology and Christian ministry from 2005 to 2007). Ordained in 2011\, he now serves in Haiti in the Diocese of Anse-à-Veau and Miragoâne under Bishop Pierre-André Dumas. Preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ is both a duty and passion for him. His perpetual prayer intention is to be a saintly priest. He is featured as a speaker at the Steubenville Youth Conferences. \nQuestions? DESCRIPTION:This Annual Rosary Festival hosted by Family Rosary has become a favorite local October family tradition. The evening includes a radiant candlelit Rosary procession for all ages led by priests of the Congregation of Holy Cross. Prayer will be followed by seasonal treats provided by Langwater Farms. The Rosary Festival takes place at  the St. Joseph Chapel on the campus of the Father Peyton Center in North Easton. \nThere is no charge to participate\, but registration is greatly appreciated. DESCRIPTION:October is designated annually as a time for greater focus on mental health and on mobilizing efforts to support it. Specifically\, October 10th is World Mental Health Day and October 6 – 12 is Mental Illness Awareness Month. \nIn recognition of the impact that mental health challenges can have on individuals\, their families and caregivers\, Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha\, S.D.V.\, will celebrate this Mass to raise awareness of the impact of mental health and substance use within faith communities within the Diocese of Fall River.  \nThis will be offered for those who have lost a loved one to suicide\, drug and alcohol use\, or mental illness\, and for those who are currently experiencing mental health or substance use challenges. All are welcome to either! \nA Book of Remembrance will be offered during the Mass for those who have died. If you would like to submit a name or names of loved ones to be included in the Book of Remembrance\, please email FR-Reception@ccfrdioc.org\, with the subject line: Name for Remembrance Book.
