DESCRIPTION:During the Year of Jubilee\, the Parish Leader Convocation this year will also serve as the diocesan celebration of the Jubilee of Catechists occurring the same month at the Vatican. All catechetical and ministry leaders are asked to attend as part of their professional formation and development. \nThis Parish Leader Convocation will include Morning Mass with Bishop da Cunha; Continental Breakfast; workshops and formation by featured speaker Jim Beckman; an address from Bishop da Cunha; discussion and community; continental breakfast and lunch; and Convocation materials. \nFeatured presenter Jim Beckman serves as the Executive Director of ImpactCenter\, a Catholic apostolate dedicated to ministering to ministry leaders in the Church. He is the former Executive Director of Evangelization and Catechesis for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. He has been involved with Diocesan and parish ministry\, evangelization and leadership development for many years. DESCRIPTION:A second collection will be taken up at Masses at all parishes in the Diocese of Fall River this weekend (Sept. 13-14) to support financial scholarships for students attending a Catholic school in the Diocese. The scholarships are distributed through FACE\, the Foundation to Advance Catholic Education. \nFACE (formerly known as the St. Mary’s Education Fund) has been providing scholarships for children in Diocese of Fall River Catholic schools since 1991. \nFACE has distributed over $21 million in scholarship aid to thousands of students since it began as St. Mary’s Education Fund! \nEach year\, FACE awards over $1.2 Million to more than 1\,000 students from New Bedford to South Yarmouth\, Attleboro to Acushnet\, Fall River to Mansfield\, Hyannis to North\nDartmouth\, and Fairhaven to North Attleboro. \nA donation to the special collection taking place the weekend of September 13th and 14th will help continue this proud mission of giving students opportunities to grow in\neducational environments dedicated to helping them develop their God-given potential. \nVisit www.FACE-DFR.ORG to learn more.

Guest speaker will be Eileen Magdalen Ross of the Office of the Tribunal and Canonical Services of the Diocese of Fall River.  Her presentation will be on Canon Law\, the official body of laws for the Catholic Church. It is one of the oldest legal systems still in existence.
