Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha, S.D.V., will lead the Holy Hour as National Vocations Awareness Week begins across the country. National Vocations Awareness Week is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promote vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations. Begun in 1976, the observance of National Vocations Awareness Week has taken place at different times of the year; in 2014, it was moved to the first full week of November. Earlier on November 6, also at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Parish Vocations Committee members from across the Diocese will gather for a day-long program of enrichment, sharing and prayer to conclude with the Holy Hour.
