FALL RIVER \u2014 The goal of a Catholic education is to go beyond knowledge and skills.\u00a0 Rather, it opens the mind, transforms the heart, and ignites the soul.\u00a0 With this in mind, the Diocese of Fall River Catholic Schools Office<\/a> is proud to announce a partnership with Hallow<\/a>, the #1 prayer app, to help users deepen their faith and find peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This partnership provides the Catholic schools in the Diocese of Fall River full access to the library of over 10,000 sessions, including daily prayers, rosaries, meditations, and readings from the\u00a0Daily Mass and Catholic Bible<\/a>,\u00a0alongside community features and audiobooks.\u00a0 More importantly, there is a plethora of resources created specifically for children, middle schoolers, and young adults and their families.\u00a0 There are two goals of this partnership; first, to bring families together to pray, whether it is in their home, in the car, before bedtime, or each morning before school.\u00a0 The second goal is to equip teachers with tools and resources specific to incorporating Catholic faith into the lessons they teach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of May 2025, Hallow has been downloaded more than 25 million times.  There has been significant growth during the past two Lenten seasons such that 1.19 million users joined in 2025 and over 1.4 million in 2024.  Hallow also reports that over 1 billion prayers have been prayed using the app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marian Desrosiers, Director of Catholic Identity for the Diocese of Fall River, explained, \u201cIt is imperative that we support our faculty and staff in strengthening their ability to bring the truth of the Gospel and the truth of Christ into their classrooms. With the integration of Hallow throughout our schools, students will have the opportunity to develop an even stronger prayer life to carry them into the future.\u00a0 All of our students, and even our youngest students will benefit from Hallow because their families can use it at home and reinforce what is being taught in school.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHallow will help families, students and faculty learn how to pray no matter where they are and develop daily routines that increase faith and build their relationship with God,\u201d said Dan Roy, who is Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Fall River.\u00a0 \u201cThe Church teaches that parents are the primary educators of their children. As Catholic education leaders, we want to provide families with resources to reinforce what their children are learning in school and come together as stronger faith communities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew Bourque, principal of St. Mary Catholic School in Mansfield, shared, \u201cI originally was hesitant about bringing Hallow to St. Mary’s simply because it could mean more\u00a0time with students\u00a0on screens and phones, which as we know is not ideal for children and teens. However, the parent\u00a0engagement that we would gain by using Hallow outweighed\u00a0my concerns about student device use. Parents are the first teachers, especially\u00a0of faith, and I see Hallow being a vital component of how our school supports parents in their role as faith witnesses for their children. Hallow\u00a0gives parents Catholic content, prayers, books, and more to help their children connect what they are learning in Catholic school to what they can do at home with prayer routines and daily\u00a0time with God. I’m excited to see our teachers integrate it into the daily life of their classrooms too!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each school subscription allows the app to be downloaded onto up to five devices; thus, even pre-school students will be able to learn and use Hallow with their school, parents and families.  Hallow representatives have already begun training leaders from the Diocese of Fall River Catholic schools and a Hallow rep will be present at the November 3rd<\/sup> Diocesan Catholic Schools Spiritual Day to offer additional assistance to any school needing help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
