Sacramental Records

Sacramental records are stored and maintained at the parish where the particular sacrament was celebrated. These records are not centralized in a single location. Requests for baptism, confirmation or marriage records must be made to the parish where the sacrament was administered.

The sacramental records from parishes that have been closed or merged become the property and responsibility of the parish to which the former parish was joined or of the new parish community formed in the merger. You will find below a list indicating the locations of records for closed or merged parishes.

You should be aware that sacramental records are historical, ecclesiastical documents, and the information in them is confidential. Sacramental certificates are available only to the person listed in the sacramental record or his /her direct relatives, legal representatives (i.e., parents, children, grandchildren, legal guardians), and ecclesiastical authorities.
