The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ or Corpus Christi is observed this year on the weekend of June 21-22. Established by Pope Urban IV after the Eucharistic miracle at Bolsena, Italy, this day celebrates the gift of the Eucharist, namely that “In the most blessed sacrament of the Eucharist the body and blood, together with the soul and divinity, of our Lord Jesus Christ and, therefore, the whole Christ is truly, really, and substantially contained” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1374). Processions are tradition to the celebration and a number of them will take place across the Diocese. See the map below to find one near you. (Click the image to enlarge it.)
