“The Wounded Heart: Reflecting on the Five Wounds of Christ” is the theme for this year’s Lenten Mission sponsored by the parishes of the Fall River Deanery, from April 4 through 7. The speaker will be Franciscan Father Richard Martignetti, who is director of campus ministry at Ave Maria University in Florida. There will be two mission sessions offered daily, at 12 noon at St. Mary’s Cathedral and at 7 p.m. The evening mission will rotate among different churches in Fall River: on Monday: Holy Trinity Church, 951 Stafford Rd.; Tuesday: St. Joseph Church, 1335 North Main St.; Wednesday: Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St.; Thursday: St. Anthony of the Desert Church, 300 North Eastern Ave. Confession will be available at 6 p.m. each night.
Father Martignetti holds a doctorate in Sacred Theology and Franciscan Spirituality and has done years of teaching, spiritual direction, and retreat ministry. He is a frequent speaker at Franciscan University of Steubenville’s Summer Youth Conferences.
