In the News 6 Feb 2023 Share NEW BEDFORD – The Diocesan Catholic Cemeteries Office has announced that a limited number of plots are now available at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in New Bedford. Catholic Cemeteries Director David J. Raposa Jr. explained that a reconfiguration of the cemetery’s landscaping and plot layout has opened up space for additional lots. In its previous design the cemetery was at capacity. “We are again able to offer lots for traditional full body in-ground burial options as well as in-ground cremation graves,” Raposa said. “We are trying to utilize all the space we have to respond to what families want today.” The new lots are limited. Interested persons are encouraged to contact the St. John the Baptist Cemetery Office at 508-992-1071 for details including pricing information.
