The Faith Formation Office of the Fall River Diocese has announced the 2015 fall schedule for its Scripture Alive adult formation program. Scripture Alive offers faith sharing in a group setting using the Loyola Press Six Weeks with the Bible study series. It’s an opportunity for guided exploration of God’s word in the Bible and reflection on ways to respond to it in daily living.

For the New Bedford and Taunton areas, Scripture Alive will take place on Tuesdays, from September 15 to October 20, 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at the St. John Neumann Parish library, 157 Middleboro Ave., East Freetown. This series will look at Jesus the Healer, using the healing miracles of Jesus from the New Testament to encourage participants to experience healing in their own lives and to be healers for others.

For the Fall River area, Scripture Alive will take place on Thursdays, from September 17 to October 22, 10 a.m. to 12 noon, at the Faith Formation Office, 423 Highland Ave, Fall River. With its theme of Living for a Just Society, this series will focus on God’s invitation to help bring about social justice and what participants can do to better society in their neighborhood and around the world.

Sister of Mercy Francis Thomas will serve as facilitator for both groups.

Cost is $20 for each six week unit and covers the cost of resource book, workbook and other materials.

Deadline for Registration is one week prior to the start of the first session. Space is limited to 12 participants for each group. To register, please call Rose Mary Saraiva at the Office of Faith Formation at 508-678-2828 extension 27.
