As part of his proclamation of a Year of Mercy, Pope Francis asked the Universal Church to celebrate “24 Hours for the Lord” on March 4 and 5 within the 2016 Lenten season.

“It is the Holy Father’s wish that in every part of the world, the merciful, forgiving presence of Jesus be manifested during this 24-hour period through Eucharistic Adoration and the availability of the Sacrament of Penance,” explained Father Jon-Paul Gallant, SL.L., who is director of the Diocesan Office for Divine Worship.

For every penitent, it will be a source of true interior peace.” (#17)
