Jubilee of Mercy “24 Hours for the Lord” Observance in Diocese Author: Diocese of Fall River In the News 23 Feb 2016 Share As part of his proclamation of a Year of Mercy, Pope Francis asked the Universal Church to celebrate “24 Hours for the Lord” on March 4 and 5 within the 2016 Lenten season. “It is the Holy Father’s wish that in every part of the world, the merciful, forgiving presence of Jesus be manifested during this 24-hour period through Eucharistic Adoration and the availability of the Sacrament of Penance,” explained Father Jon-Paul Gallant, SL.L., who is director of the Diocesan Office for Divine Worship. Father Gallant announced that parishes and shrines in various deaneries in the Fall River Diocese have responded to the Holy Father’s call. The locations and schedules for each follow below. Confession available Friday and Saturday, March 4 and 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Corpus Christi Parish (designated Holy Door site) 324 Quaker Meeting House Rd., East Sandwich 24 Hour Adoration.
