FACE Fall Scholarship Dinner Raises Critical Funds to Support Catholic Education Author: Diocese of Fall River Press Releases and Statements 16 Oct 2026 Share The Foundation to Advance Catholic Education (FACE) will celebrate its 32nd Annual Fall Scholarship Dinner on November 10 at White’s of Westport. Event co-chairs John Feitelberg of HUB International and Janna LaFrance of LaFrance Hospitality are working with a dedicated committee to make this year’s FACE Fall Scholarship Dinner another memorable evening in support of Catholic education. Funds raised through the event help provide need-based scholarships that enable children to attend Catholic schools throughout the Diocese of Fall River. Father Kenneth Sicard, O.P. The featured speaker for this year’s dinner will be Father Kenneth R. Sicard, O.P., president of Providence College. A native of Fall River, Father Sicard has led the college since July 2020. The evening will also include the presentation of the Timothy J. Cotter Friend of Catholic Education Award by Bishop Edgar M. da Cunha, S.D.V. to Edwin H. Hurley. Hurley, who serves as chair of the FACE Board of Directors, retired after nearly 30 years as president of the regional Hockomock Area YMCA, where he helped children and families across 15 communities. Each academic year, FACE provides approximately $1 million in scholarship assistance to more than 1,000 students attending Catholic schools throughout the Diocese of Fall River. “Every financial aid award provided by FACE reflects the generosity of a larger community that believes every family deserves the opportunity to choose a Catholic education,” said Andrew Raposo, principal of Espírito Santo School in Fall River. “Together, we are opening doors, strengthening families, and shaping the next generation of faith-filled leaders.” Raposo also expressed his gratitude to FACE supporters for the opportunities they make possible for students and families. “Here at Espírito Santo School, we have been blessed by the generosity of donors, enabling our students to access a quality Catholic education while benefiting from the formation of the whole child,” he said. “The tuition assistance provided through FACE opens the doors of Catholic education to families seeking not only academic excellence but also a community rooted in faith, values, and service. It transforms hope into opportunity and ensures that every child has the chance to thrive.” Support from FACE enables more children to grow and flourish in faith-based learning environments where they can develop their God-given talents through a high-quality, values-centered education. There are 17 Catholic schools in the Diocese of Fall River, located in Acushnet, Attleboro, Fairhaven, Fall River, Hyannis, Mansfield, New Bedford, North Attleborough, North Dartmouth, Taunton, and Yarmouth.
